About the Role

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your skills in the retail sector. The role entails delivering outstanding customer service aligned with Walmart's core values, maintaining and organizing the deli area, and assisting with stock management and sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the deli department's organization and cleanliness.
• Regularly rotate stock and inspect items for expiration.
• Ensure all merchandise is correctly signed and priced.
• Follow strict protocols for cold chain management including thermometer calibration, temperature logging, food handling, product rotation, and managing sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take and prepare deli orders including meats, cheeses, fried chicken, and other deli products while utilizing slicers, stackers, and additional equipment.
• Support front-end team with price verification tasks.
• Prepare deli foods, use rotisserie ovens and deep fryers, and ready salads and side dishes for display or customer orders.
• Keep the work area orderly, clean, and free from hazards including debris, foreign objects, and liquids.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is $17.20 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
