About the Role
AWS Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, delivery, and operation of global AWS data centers. Our team manages all server, networking, storage, power, and cooling equipment critical to maintaining uninterrupted cloud services, facing complex supply chain and operational challenges. We are seeking Mechanical Service Engineers in India to support and maintain mechanical and HVAC infrastructure within AWS data centers, ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of data center incidents, events, and changes from start to finish, including root cause analysis and post-mortem activities.
- Plan and execute maintenance and repair activities to safeguard critical facility infrastructure.
- Manage assets and inventory relevant to data center operations.
- Create and update documentation including method statements, operating procedures, emergency response plans, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Ensure adherence to consistent operational standards and promote automation and efficient technical writing.
- Communicate operational strategies, technical information, and expectations to internal teams and vendor facility management groups.
- Provide hands-on support to facility operations as necessary.
- Review incident reports, summarize trends, and offer management with actionable insights.
- Oversee information flow during emergencies, coordinating with vendors to resolve issues promptly, including on-site investigation if required.
- Guarantee safe, secure, and uninterrupted 24/7 shift operations.
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level issues within defined SLAs.
- Manage rack installation, decommissioning, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing facility oversight.
- Collect and report operational metrics and performance indicators.
- Supervise contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with established processes and regulations.
- Perform maintenance and operational oversight of all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment.
- Adapt to varied shift schedules including 12-hour rotating shifts based on site requirements.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 2 years of experience in data center engineering roles.
- Academic background in engineering, project management, construction management, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and associated data monitoring and trend analysis.
