Job Overview

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), specifically within the Oregon State Hospital (OSH) Environmental Services Department, is seeking dedicated Custodians to maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff. This full-time, onsite role offers a monthly salary range from $3,515 to $3,798 with a 10% pay differential above the base rate for custodians at OSH.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and disinfection of spills, substances, and accidents.
• Handle bio-hazard waste and sharps by transporting them to designated secure storage locations.
• Disinfect patient wards during infectious disease outbreaks.
• Sweep, dust, mop, buff hard floor surfaces.
• Vacuum and spot clean carpets, remove trash regularly.
• Scrub, rinse, refinish floors; clean, shampoo, and extract carpets and upholstered furniture.
• Maintain custodial equipment to ensure operational readiness.
• Prepare floors and walls for renovation or remodeling projects.

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum of 6 months custodial experience involving operation of cleaning equipment.
• Physical capacity to push/pull heavy equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds, including frequent crouching, stooping, bending, standing, or walking during approximately 90% of the work shift.

Additional Information
