Job description
Role Overview
Join Malomatia as an Application Security Consultant based in Doha, Qatar, contributing to enhancing the security posture across a diverse range of software applications. This role involves hands-on penetration testing, automated vulnerability scanning, threat analysis, and security code reviews to protect various application environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute penetration tests on different platforms including web, mobile, API, and thick client applications, followed by comprehensive reports including actionable remediation advice.
- Deploy and oversee automated security scanning tools like SAST, DAST, and SCA to continuously detect security weaknesses in codebases, configuration settings, and external dependencies.
- Conduct detailed threat modeling sessions to identify security risks and advise on mitigation strategies tailored to application types.
- Perform thorough security-focused code reviews across multiple platforms, recommending practical corrections.
- Develop and present customized training programs to educate development teams and stakeholders about application security best practices and awareness.
- Review and suggest tools and technologies to augment security testing and monitoring efforts in application security.
- Document all security assessments, vulnerability management procedures, and relevant security policy updates meticulously.
Qualification Requirements
- Possess at least a Bachelor’s or college degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or an allied discipline.
- Bring a minimum of two years’ experience in application security, software development, or related fields.
- Hold highly regarded certifications such as BCSP, OSWA, OSWE, eWPT, eWPTX, or SEC542, which enhance candidacy.
- Demonstrate proficiency with key security testing tools, including Burp Suite (mandatory), and preferably Fortify, SonarQube, and Postman.
- Maintain solid knowledge of secure coding practices and be skilled in at least one programming language.
- Exhibit a deep understanding of application security frameworks and standards such as OWASP Top 10, ASVS, MASVS, WSTG, and MSTG.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps methodology and CI/CD pipeline integration is advantageous.
