About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for building competitive tenders across a wide mix of civil construction and building projects. You will partner with the operations team, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to produce precise estimates, uncover value-improvement opportunities, and strengthen the company’s win rate. The role also includes involvement in business development, client relationships, and broader growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed cost estimates and tender documentation.
• Examine drawings, specifications, and contract papers to understand scope.
• Carry out accurate quantity take-offs.
• Request, compare, and assess pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Build construction approaches and pricing plans that support competitive bids.
• Spot commercial opportunities and project risks early in the process.
• Take part in site inspections and pre-tender meetings.
• Support contract negotiations when needed.
• Contribute to business development efforts and client interaction.
• Keep estimating databases and cost libraries up to date.
• Coordinate with delivery teams during project handover.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience estimating civil, infrastructure, or commercial construction projects.
• Solid knowledge of Australian construction contracts and procurement approaches.
• Practical experience with Buildsoft Cubit, which is essential.
• Strong analytical judgement and commercial awareness.
• Confident negotiation and communication skills.
• Very strong attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Skilled in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
• Self-driven mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
