About Central Remedial Clinic (CRC)

Founded in 1951, the Central Remedial Clinic is undergoing a significant transformation from a traditional charity into a forward-thinking, rights-based and evidence-led national provider of complex disability services. With around 400 staff and delivering support to 4,000 individuals annually, CRC is a key Section 38 agency operating within a restructured health care system.

Role Overview

We are seeking an influential and visionary Communications Manager to articulate and lead the organisation's voice on the national stage. This pivotal position will spearhead CRC's organisational repositioning and establish a unified communications function aligned with the 2025–2030 strategic plan, "Creating Pathways that Empower and Enable."

Key Responsibilities and Experience

• Lead complex communications initiatives within a challenging organisational environment.
• Manage communications during transformational periods including organisational restructuring.
• Develop effective media engagement strategies and build compelling narratives.
• Forge and maintain high-value stakeholder relationships across HSE, government bodies, NGOs, and with CRC leadership.
• Oversee strategic projects, departmental budgets, and manage relationships with external creative agencies.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree-level education, preferably in a communications-related field.
• Proven experience in complex organisational and market environments.
• Deep understanding of the Irish media, healthcare, and political landscapes.
• Track record of media engagement, national campaigning, narrative construction, and issue framing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; experience as an organisational spokesperson.
• Competence in building and sustaining partnerships with stakeholders such as HSE, Government, NGOs, and disability groups.
• Strong strategic thinking with demonstrated project, budget, and team leadership.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with accessible communication methods such as Easy Read, Irish Sign Language (ISL), and alternative media formats.
• Commitment to continuous improvement via Lean Principles or similar methodologies.

Additional Information

This role is classified as Clerical Grade VII under the Department of Health salary scales, with an annual pay range between €61,219 and €79,583.
