Communications Executive

Role Overview

The Communications Executive is responsible for assisting in the creation, execution, and oversight of employee communication channels, initiatives, and campaigns that align with strategic goals and projects. This role supports innovation in communication strategies to enhance engagement, facilitate decision-making, and improve overall organizational performance by leveraging customer feedback and insights. Measuring and evaluating communications impact to ensure continuous improvement is an essential part of the position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing employee communications strategies across a variety of channels, including intranet, digital media, print, and face-to-face interactions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to produce compelling, relevant content such as news updates and feature articles for internal platforms.
• Suggest and apply creative communication methods by assessing the success of campaigns and activities.
• Liaise and coordinate with external suppliers and agencies to deliver engaging communication initiatives.
• Manage the internal dissemination of communications material across Transport for London's network promptly, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
• Maintain and oversee employee communication assets including photographs, branding materials, and videos to ensure quality, consistency, rights compliance, and alignment with brand tone.
• Administer internal distribution for selected TfL communications platforms such as digital displays and notice boards.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Understanding of effective employee communication methods using diverse channels including digital, social media, print, broadcast, and direct interaction.
• Ability to identify opportunities for communication and provide practical guidance in a customer-centric environment.
• Familiarity with editorial styles suitable for various media and audiences.
• Project management capabilities encompassing scoping, planning, risk and resource management, and financial oversight.
• Experience in managing recruitment communications projects within large organizations, including providing coaching and support to hiring managers.
• Strong attention to detail coupled with analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal communication with both internal and external partners.
• Ability to identify improvements in processes and apply recruitment laws and policies appropriately.
• Skills in designing effective assessment tools and talent attraction strategies based on organizational needs.
• Understanding diverse talent resourcing approaches and supporting clients' expectation management.

Experience

• Proven track record of managing communication projects and campaigns, particularly in customer-facing settings, that have led to measurable positive results and return on investment.
• Experience implementing communication strategies in large-scale organizations.
