About the Role

This full-time, non-management position based in Kolkata involves preparing ingredients and cooking food while adhering to quality and presentation standards. Responsibilities include portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, mixing, cooking, and testing food. Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen tools, equipment, and workstations. Ensure correct temperatures for appliances and foods and serve food in proper portions.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by chopping, portioning, washing, and peeling fresh produce.
• Measure and mix ingredients accurately for food preparation.
• Cook foods following recipes and standards for quality and presentation.
• Operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
• Test food to confirm proper cooking.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment including washing tools and equipment.
• Set up and dismantle workstations appropriately.
• Serve food in correct portions using proper containers.
• Monitor safety and report maintenance needs or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of company information.
• Collaborate positively with team members and respond appropriately to concerns.
• Adhere to all safety and company policies and complete relevant training.
• Physically able to stand, sit, walk extensively, and handle objects up to 25 pounds.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of relevant work experience in a culinary environment.
• No supervisory experience is required.
• No licensing or certification necessary.
