Role overview

This is a full-time, on-site cooking opportunity based in Fort Wayne, IN. The position offers competitive pay and focuses on preparing meals, supporting menu planning, and maintaining safe food handling standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner service as needed.
• Work with the general manager on meal planning.
• Check menus before beginning food preparation.
• Ensure all food handling and preparation processes are carried out correctly.
• Coordinate meal service with other departments when required.
• Help with ordering and tracking food inventory.
• Maintain compliance with sanitation and hygiene rules.
• Learn and adapt to new menu items and dishes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
• Training from a culinary institute, military school, or structured on-the-job program is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in food preparation is required.
• Background in preparing food in larger quantities is preferred.
• Ability to cook well and follow established recipes and menus.
• Understanding of nutritional requirements for meals.
• A valid Food Service Sanitation Certificate is required.
