Position Overview
The Cashier role serves as a vital point of contact for customers by delivering prompt, friendly, accurate, and safe checkout and return services. Cashiers are also responsible for overseeing and maintaining the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform checkout and return transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor and manage the Self-Checkout zone to assist customers as needed.
- Actively enhance product and project knowledge to inform customers and identify sales opportunities.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures to reduce inventory shrinkage.
Head Cashier Duties
- Assign Cashiers to registers and support their tasks.
- Expedite price checks and approve Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across mainline registers and specialized stations, including Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Handle first-level escalation of customer concerns professionally.
- Assist with the supervision, coaching, and training of Front End Associates by participating in onboarding new Cashiers and using available tools for staff development.
Qualifications
- Experience of over one year as a Cashier is preferred for Head Cashier positions.
