We are seeking career changers for the position of Specialist for Construction Site Safety (m/f/d) at DB Fahrwegdienste GmbH, with locations including Ahrensburg, Altenholz, Ascheberg (Holstein), Aumühle, Bad Bramstedt, Bad Oldesloe, Bad Schwartau, Bad Segeberg, Bargfeld-Stegen, Bargstedt, Bargteheide, Barkenholm, Barmstedt, Barsbüttel, Bönningstedt, Boostedt, Bordesholm, Brodersdorf, Burg (Dithmarschen), Ellerbek, Elmshorn, Eutin, Flintbek, Friedrichsholm, Geesthacht, Glückstadt, Großenaspe, Halstenbek, Heiligenhafen, Henstedt-Ulzburg, Hohenlockstedt, Hohenwestedt, Itzehoe, Kaltenkirchen, Kiel, and Neumünster.
Retraining Program
- Approximately one year of stepwise learning of all necessary knowledge and skills for the role.
- Theoretical lessons alternate with practical sessions to allow hands-on experience.
- Experienced colleagues provide guidance to ensure a smooth transition, even for those new to this field.
- The theoretical instruction is designed to be as close to your residence as possible; practical assignments usually take place within your future work region.
- From the start, you receive a secure salary during your training period.
Post-Training Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a team to ensure safety at railway construction sites, preventing any harm.
- Alert personnel working on tracks by using various signals and modern warning systems about approaching trains.
- Implement safety regulations and conduct onboarding for new safety personnel.
- Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Take independent responsibility for organizing and supervising safety measures at construction sites.
Candidate Profile
- At least 18 years old with a secondary school certificate (Hauptschulabschluss).
- No prior professional experience required, but reliability and confidence to ensure safety are essential.
- Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Fluency in German for clear oral and written communication.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and vary work locations.
- A Class B driver’s license and personal vehicle are preferred but not mandatory.
