Role Overview
This position is for full-time and part-time Care Assistants in the Hastings and Rother area of East Sussex. The role is centred on supporting clients in their own homes with day-to-day living, promoting independence, comfort, and wellbeing.
Key Duties
- Assist clients with routine daily tasks and personal living support at home.
- Help prepare meals, carry out light housekeeping, and provide reminders for medication.
- Support clients with shopping, attending appointments, and joining community activities.
- Keep an eye on clients’ wellbeing and note any relevant changes.
- Record the care delivered and share updates with supervisors without delay when condition changes arise.
- Develop trusted, respectful relationships with clients and their families.
- Follow Caremark’s care standards, plus all safety and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience with direct care tasks, including mobility assistance and safe transfer techniques.
- Practical household support ability, such as cooking simple meals, light cleaning, and assisting with everyday routines.
- Good communication and people skills for working courteously with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Confidence in observing, writing down, and reporting physical or emotional changes accurately.
- Reliable, well organised, and able to manage time effectively in a client-focused setting.
- Comfortable working alone, following care plans, and complying with health and safety procedures.
- Compassion, patience, and a strong commitment to helping people live safely at home.
- Prior experience in caregiving, home care, or healthcare is helpful, though not essential.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and care-related certifications or training are considered an advantage.
- Must be able to meet local regulatory requirements, including background checks and proof of eligibility to work.
