Job description
Role Overview
The Business Process Automation Analyst position at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is within the Enterprise IT unit under the Centre for IT Services. As NTU adapts to the dynamic demands of student administration, this role plays a vital part in streamlining and automating key business processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and prioritize processes suitable for automation to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans and timelines to drive automation initiatives to completion.
- Design, source, assess, and build automation solutions tailored to business requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and vendors in testing and deploying automation tools and systems.
- Administer existing automation solutions by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements.
- Maintain clear and ongoing communication with business stakeholders during projects, providing updates, highlighting risks, and suggesting mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
- Champion and lead efforts to foster adoption of new IT automation technologies, including conducting user training and change management activities.
- Organize and conduct training sessions and clinics to assist users in understanding and embracing automation tools.
- Stay informed of the latest developments and trends in automation technologies to propose innovative enhancements.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree or equivalent certification in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT, specifically with at least 3 years focused on systems analysis and design.
- Proven ability to analyze complex business workflows, identify bottlenecks, and evaluate processes for automation suitability.
- Experience in developing process documentation such as flowcharts, maps, and models for both current and future-state processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate automation benefits effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences and secure stakeholder support.
- Competency in data collection and analysis to discern trends and identify automation opportunities.
- Good understanding of automation technologies including Robotic Process Automation (RPA), workflow management platforms, scripting languages like Python, and related software tools.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate cross-team collaboration.
