Role Summary
We are actively seeking a Business Development Specialist responsible for amplifying our outbound sales efforts. This role entails proactively generating new business leads, conducting product demonstrations, and guiding prospects through an efficient sales process. The position requires a motivated individual who thrives in high-volume outbound environments, adept at engaging small business owners and operators in blue-collar sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and execute a robust outbound outreach program targeting decision-makers and economic buyers.
- Gain expert-level knowledge of Steer's SaaS offerings to effectively present during online demos.
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to identify customer pain points and customize sales presentations accordingly.
- Maintain detailed pipeline and sales activity documentation within the CRM to support accurate forecasting.
- Qualify prospects thoroughly and collaborate with the sales team to progress deals strategically.
Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in sales focused on outbound prospecting or business development.
- Proven achievement in consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and activity goals.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with comfort conducting phone outreach.
- Experience presenting products and conducting consultative discussions.
- Ability to commute daily to the Waltham, MA office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in the automotive, home services, or other blue-collar industries.
- Experience with SaaS sales or involvement in fast-growing startup environments.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce for opportunity management.
Interview Process
- Initial 30-minute screening interview with lead recruiter.
- 30-minute conversation with the Head of Sales.
- 30-minute leadership interview with the Chief Revenue Officer.
- Reference checks.
- Completion of the Wonderlic Assessment (independent, approximately 20-30 minutes).
Compensation & Benefits
- On-target earnings of $85,000 annually comprising $60,000 base salary plus commissions.
