Business Analyst - Payments

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Analyst specializing in Payments to manage complex payment acceptance solutions. This role requires ownership of the product backlog aligned with business priorities and involves close collaboration across product, project, operations, and compliance teams within an Agile Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and own the product backlog, ensuring alignment with stakeholder expectations and business goals.
• Create and refine user stories with explicit acceptance criteria emphasizing business outcomes and enhanced customer experience.
• Lead comprehensive requirements definition phases for payment acceptance systems.
• Engage proactively with stakeholders to convert needs into actionable product features.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement inside an Agile Scrum team for efficient feature delivery.
• Maintain clear communication and stakeholder management to highlight progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Plan for post-deployment effects to ensure readiness of operational support and client onboarding.
• Conduct cross-functional impact assessments to minimize rework by early clarity and alignment.
• Ensure holistic thinking covering regulatory, operational, and customer experience dimensions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent hands-on experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or related functions within Payments, POS acquiring, or fintech sectors.
• Strong grasp of Agile frameworks with proven expertise in backlog stewardship.
• Skillful in translating business requirements into prioritized product features.
• Practical experience with business analysis techniques and knowledge of emerging industry technologies.
• In-depth understanding of applications and technologies, particularly in payments, POS, and acquiring domains.
• Experience leading Agile delivery including iteration planning and backlog ownership.
• Working knowledge of payment ecosystems, POS terminals, and acquiring processes is advantageous.
• Track record in maintaining product quality standards through guidance and procedural development.
• Capability to troubleshoot operational problems using structured problem-solving approaches.
• Ability to mentor junior colleagues by providing technical direction and resolving requirements-related queries.
• Expertise in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and familiarity with project management tools for scheduling and tracking progress.
