Job Summary

The baker position involves preparing a variety of baked goods adhering to established recipes and production guidelines. Candidates should have prior bakery experience and be ready to work full- or part-time with varying schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries following production and catering schedules.
• Ensure compliance with approved recipes and production standards while using correct baking equipment.
• Assist with tracking production records, including waste, portions used, and stock levels, notifying supervisors of supply shortages.
• Maintain the quality, presentation, portion control, and temperature standards of all baked products.
• Upkeep cleanliness and organization of equipment, utensils, and workstations, ensuring sanitary conditions.
• Handle food safely in adherence to health and safety regulations during preparation and service.
• Resolve customer concerns courteously and relay pertinent feedback to supervisors.
• Efficiently manage workload during peak times with accuracy and composure.
• Follow corporate and OSHA safety standards related to food handling and equipment use.
• Complete assigned shift duties thoroughly and on schedule.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a bakery environment is mandatory.
• Flexible availability including weekends and evening shifts.

Location & Schedule

This position is based at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, 5500 Wabash Avenue, Terre Haute, IN 47803. Applications are accepted exclusively online.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay ranges from $14.00 to $16.00.
