Job description
Position Overview
An established facilities management company is looking to hire an experienced AV Technician on a temporary contract basis (around three months) to support activities in a prestigious hospitality setting located in Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual and satellite TV (SMATV) systems.
- Perform both preventive and corrective upkeep of AV equipment.
- Oversee RF distribution networks and monitor the quality of TV signals.
- Handle installation and termination of coaxial, Cat5e/Cat6, fiber optic, and HDMI cables.
- Set up and operate AV hardware for meetings, conferences, banquets, and special occasions.
- Configure equipment such as projectors, LED displays, LCD TVs, microphones, speakers, amplifiers, digital mixers, and presentation systems.
- Conduct sound testing, equipment verification, and system checks prior to events.
- Provide technical assistance on-site during live events.
- Maintain records and inventory of AV equipment.
- Adhere to company safety standards and manufacturers' instructions in all tasks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or ITI certification in Electronics, Electrical, AV Technology, or related disciplines.
- At least two years of professional experience as an AV Technician.
- Familiarity with SMATV systems and professional audiovisual gear.
- Understanding of RF distribution and structured cabling systems.
- Proven experience supporting events such as conferences and live meetings.
- Strong skills in troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Effective communication and customer service abilities.
- Flexibility to work variable hours when necessary.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience in hotel, hospitality, or facilities management sectors.
- Experience working on conference and banquet support.
- Holding AV-related professional certifications is advantageous.
Contract Details
- Type: Temporary contract for approximately three months.
