Job Overview
The University of Auckland invites applications for the role of Associate Systems Engineer (referred internally as Junior Systems Engineer) to join their team on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily system administration, support, and troubleshooting focusing primarily on Linux operating systems.
- Analyze logs to diagnose issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Support enterprise business systems and infrastructure, including monitoring and responding to alerts proactively.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and team members in an Agile setting, actively participating in discussions and delivery efforts.
- Identify and drive initiatives to continuously improve system performance and reliability.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Linux systems administration.
- Solid understanding of server operating systems encompassing troubleshooting, performance evaluation, and log analysis.
- Proficient at diagnosing technical problems and uncovering root causes in complex environments.
- Enthusiastic about technology and committed to ongoing learning and development.
- Capable of building productive relationships and collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders.

- The compensation range is NZD 73,400 to NZD 90,700 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
