Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Associate Director for Project Controls based in Doha, Qatar. This senior leadership position focuses on directing the project controls functions for major airport development and expansion projects. You will lead a team to ensure projects are completed within scope, timeline, and budget while adhering to all regulatory frameworks. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage complex multimillion-dollar airport projects in an international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the project controls team, fostering their growth and performance.
• Design and enforce comprehensive project controls strategies encompassing scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
• Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) for tracking project progress, conduct variance analyses, and forecast outcomes.
• Generate high-level reports and dashboards communicating project status, risks, and financial insights to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation and contingency plans to minimize project impact.
• Ensure all projects comply with company policies, industry standards, and specific airport regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineering, and procurement teams to set realistic schedules and budgets.
• Conduct regular audits and reviews of project controls to guarantee accurate data and efficient processes.
• Manage critical project documents, including change orders and baseline updates during the project life cycle.
• Participate actively in project planning and strategic decision-making related to airport developments.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of professional experience in project controls or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years in managing controls for large-scale infrastructure or airport development projects.
• Proven leadership ability to guide and develop teams within project controls.
• Advanced knowledge and use of project management platforms such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalents.
• Strong expertise in Earned Value Management and performance analysis.
• Skilled in budget management, forecasts, and cost control techniques.
• Highly analytical with excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Proficient in financial modeling and data reporting using tools like Excel and Power BI.
• Effective communication skills for presenting complex data to varied audiences.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking capabilities.
• Experience in international and multicultural project environments.
• Preferred knowledge of airport operational standards, aviation regulations, Middle Eastern business culture, and project delivery models.
• Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, DRHM) are advantageous.
