Role Overview
The Assistant Manager (Techno-Commercial) is responsible for overseeing the intersection of technical and commercial activities in power plant operations, primarily focusing on maintenance and procurement processes. This role requires managing vendor contracts, coordinating with various internal departments, controlling costs, and ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the techno-commercial aspects related to the operation and maintenance of power plants.
- Oversee vendor management, including contracts and purchase order compliance.
- Assess technical specifications alongside commercial viability for procurement and service needs.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure efficient activity execution.
- Monitor budgets and support initiatives aimed at cost reduction and optimization.
- Assist in tender preparation, evaluation, and finalizing contracts.
- Ensure timely processing of billing, invoice checks, and follow-up on payments.
- Identify commercial risks and formulate effective mitigation plans.
- Maintain thorough documentation of contracts, agreements, and commercial transactions.
- Ensure that all processes comply with company policies, regulatory standards, and audit requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.
- An MBA specializing in Operations or Finance is advantageous.
- At least 7 years of experience in techno-commercial roles within the power generation sector, preferably thermal power plants.
- Solid understanding of procurement, contracts, and commercial processes.
- Familiarity with power plant operations is a plus.
- Strong analytical abilities coupled with negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
