Job description
Role Overview
This position is a vital support function within the Water Teams, providing administrative coordination to ensure smooth operational activities. The roles are permanent full-time, based at Porirua and Rongotai, Wellington, involving 40 hours per week. The salary for this position ranges from $64,306 to $90,785 per annum inclusive of KiwiSaver, depending on experience and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage coordination of traffic control measures and no-parking zones.
- Maintain tracking of approvals, project schedules, and planning data.
- Prepare and send notifications to customers regarding water works and operations.
- Update and monitor work plans and ensure accurate reporting.
- Review and assist in work order planning activities.
- Keep maintenance records for small equipment and manage fleet servicing timetables.
- Communicate effectively with subcontractors and internal team members.
- Offer general administrative assistance to operational units.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is well-organized, proactive, and skilled in managing multiple priorities while fostering positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proven background in administrative roles, including coordination, scheduling, or operational support.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications—Word, Excel, Outlook—and Teams.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management capabilities.
- Experience using system databases; familiarity with Maximo software is advantageous.
- Possession of a full New Zealand Class 1 driver's license.
- Commitment to workplace health, safety, and ongoing improvement.
