Position Overview

The City of Houston is hiring an Administrative Assistant for its Center for Public Leadership & Learning (CPLL) within the HR division. The role is based at 13333 Northwest Freeway, Houston, Texas 77040, with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. These hours may change as needed.

This position serves as the first contact for employees, guests, and community partners visiting the learning center. Key Duties

  • Act as the main reception and customer service contact for visitors, employees, and outside partners.

  • Arrange visitor appointments, meeting rooms, and related logistics when assigned.

  • Track office and breakroom supplies and coordinate restocking when needed.
  • Provide administrative and operational assistance to the Office of the Chief Learning Officer.
  • Support purchasing tasks, vendor coordination, invoice handling, and other procurement-related work.
  • Assist with communications, special projects, events, and general operational initiatives.
  • Carry out additional duties and special assignments as needed.
