Organisation and Finance Team
Airways is structured into operational business units supported by governance and corporate functions. The Finance Team manages Airways' financial operations including transaction accounting, financial reporting, general ledger support, financial IT systems, procurement, property management, capital planning, and statutory as well as management reporting.
Role Overview
We are looking for an Accounts Payable Team Leader to join our Auckland airport-based team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is responsible for managing the entire Accounts Payable function to ensure vendor payments are processed accurately and promptly, and vendor master data remains correct. The role also involves generating monthly expenditure reports on sensitive costs, maintaining AP controls, and supporting the accuracy and reliability of financial records.
Leadership and Improvement
As team leader, you will coach, guide, and motivate your direct report to meet both personal and organisational objectives. You will promote continuous improvement initiatives while complying with established controls and regulatory requirements.
Key Qualifications and Attributes
- Strong accounting knowledge with practical experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance or comparable large ERP systems, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with applying policies and procedures within an accounting context.
- Experience handling foreign currencies and managing international supplier relationships.
- Effective communication skills and confidence to interact with both internal teams and external partners.
- High attention to detail coupled with a commitment to quality and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, collaborate effectively across teams, demonstrate resilience, take initiative, and focus on successful outcomes.
Desirable Experience
Prior experience in a leadership role involving coaching and mentoring direct reports is considered a benefit.
