Women's Wear Pattern Maker

Role Overview

Anko is hiring an in-house pattern maker to support its women’s wear line in Lagos, Nigeria. The role suits someone with strong garment construction knowledge, an eye for fit, and the ability to convert design ideas into production-ready patterns for sampling and manufacturing.

Scope of Work

You will be expected to create accurate patterns for womenswear pieces, making sure each design is technically correct, fits well, and can move smoothly into sample making and production.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft initial patterns based on designers’ sketches and technical illustrations.
• Build precise production-ready patterns for women’s garments.
• Revise and fine-tune patterns after fittings and design feedback.
• Grade patterns across the necessary size range.
• Coordinate with design and production teams during the product development cycle.
• Confirm that all patterns are suitable for production and commercially workable.
• Assist with sample development by fixing construction and fit challenges.
• Keep pattern files and records well organised in both digital and physical form.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in women’s wear pattern making.
• Solid understanding of pattern drafting, garment construction, and fit.
• Ability to read and translate sketches and technical drawings accurately.
• Hands-on experience with woven and knit fabrics.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Comfort working to deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience in contemporary or luxury fashion is an advantage.

This is a full-time, in-house role based in Lagos, Nigeria.
