WHS Officer

Job Overview

The WHS Officer will collaborate closely with the operations team at a Fulfillment Center to implement company safety protocols and ensure adherence to all relevant local and regional laws. Utilizing lean management techniques and continuous improvement methodologies such as kaizens, this role focuses on minimizing both conditional and ergonomic hazards to maintain a healthy and secure workplace for employees.

Key Responsibilities

The WHS Officer will be responsible for performing thorough risk evaluations and analyzing safety metrics to build trust among operational leaders and effectively promote safety-related change. Strong communication skills are required to deliver clear and consistent safety instructions and to provide training on company safety guidelines. The officer will also play a crucial role in identifying industry best practices and integrating them into company policies to constantly enhance safety standards. Expertise in safety programs, along with relevant environmental and ergonomic knowledge, is essential to support productive collaboration with operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or a minimum of two years of progressive responsibility in Environmental Health and Safety or environmental program roles within manufacturing, production, or service operations.
• Possession of certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, Diploma in Industrial Safety, or comparable recognized safety qualifications.
• Postgraduate diploma in Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Preferred: Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent).
