Job Summary

This role serves as the liaison between John Soules Foods and external waste, pallet, recycling, and inedible product management vendors. The position is tasked with upkeep of the inedible product area and ensuring the cleanliness and availability of stainless steel combo vats used in production.

Work Schedule and Environment

The normal shift hours are from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am including a 30-minute lunch break. This position operates on the production floor at temperatures averaging 40°F, exposed to moderate noise, fast-moving machinery, and wet/dry surfaces. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow all plant safety guidelines at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness by removing debris consistently throughout the work area.
• Communicate with external vendors such as waste management, pallet, cardboard recycling, and inedible product disposal companies.
• Report issues promptly to the Shipping Supervisor.
• Ensure all plant waste is deposited into open top dumpsters and track scheduled pickups with customer service.
• Supervise proper cardboard removal to the baling area, train new baler operators, and coordinate cardboard trailer pickups.
• Manage removal and staging of inedible products for pickup, maintaining sanitation standards.
• Separate pallets into viable and non-viable stacks, ensure rinsing of suitable pallets, and prepare them for reuse.
• Clean stainless steel vats daily using high pressure hosing and soap, maintain an adequate inventory on the production floor.
• Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and handle objects frequently.
• Regular lifting and moving of items weighing up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate a Lull forklift for transporting heavy materials.
• Must handle chemicals safely during cleaning processes.
• Requires both close and distance vision with ability to focus adjustments.
