Role Overview
The Turner / Fitter position involves fabricating, assembling, repairing, and maintaining mechanical parts and machinery using both hand and machine tools, alongside precision instruments. The role mandates reading blueprint specifications and ensuring all manufactured components adhere strictly to quality and safety norms.
Primary Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents accurately.
- Operate diverse machine tools including lathes, milling machines, drills, and grinders.
- Produce and fit metal parts adhering to precise dimensional tolerances.
- Execute machining processes such as turning, threading, boring, reaming, and other related operations.
- Assemble various mechanical systems and equipment components.
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on mechanical assemblies.
- Utilize micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to assess component quality.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure components meet specified standards.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and organizational guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of tools, equipment, and workspace.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of ITI certification in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, or a closely related field.
- Prior apprenticeship or hands-on experience in industrial settings is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of machining techniques and standard workshop procedures.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings along with use of measurement instruments.
- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical upkeep and fabrication techniques.
- Expertise in lathe machine operation and precise measurement.
- Strong mechanical assembly capabilities.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Awareness and adherence to workplace safety standards.

Compensation Details
Remuneration in India ranges from ₹15,000 to ₹25,000 monthly for newcomers, scaling up to ₹25,000 to ₹35,000 or more for seasoned professionals.
