About the role

Wētā Workshop creates imaginative worlds using highly detailed props, costumes, armour, creatures, miniatures, bigatures, and more. With several major projects in progress, the Manufacturing team is seeking a Tracking Coordinator for a fixed-term assignment running until February 2027.

Role overview

This position is focused on monitoring a high volume of items coming into the workshop from suppliers, vendors, and partners. The aim is to ensure every piece is properly counted, logged, and tracked so the team always has clear visibility over incoming work and can keep shipments moving smoothly.

What you will do

  • Accept, count, and record incoming items received from external suppliers, vendors, and partners.
  • Use tracking schedules and information from Art Direction and Production to keep records accurate, including item quantities, condition, and project assignment.
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders, manifests, and project needs.
  • Spot and escalate any missing, damaged, or incorrect materials.
  • Keep an eye on incoming deliveries and share progress updates with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare summaries and maintain well-organised documentation to support project tracking and visibility.

What the team is looking for

The ideal candidate brings experience in logistics, inventory, warehousing, or a coordination-based role. You should enjoy working with numbers, have strong attention to detail, stay organised in a fast-paced environment, communicate clearly, and be comfortable doing hands-on physical work, including moving equipment and materials.

Eligibility and additional information

Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand to be considered. The role is a full-time position of 42.5 hours per week and is fixed-term through the end of February 2027. The application deadline is Tuesday, 14 July 2026. The successful candidate will need to complete a Ministry of Justice check. If you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, the employer is open to discussing accommodations.

Why this role matters

This position plays an important part in keeping Wētā Workshop’s manufacturing workflow running efficiently by ensuring materials and components are accurately tracked from arrival through to shipment.
