Job Overview

This position requires someone with a secondary school diploma and 2 to 3 years of relevant experience. The role is based entirely on-site in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, within environments that may include odors, dust, and significant noise.

Key Duties

• Accurately preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces where tiles will be installed.
• Mixing and applying mortar, cement, adhesives, or mastics using hand trowels.
• Placing tiles carefully and pressing them firmly onto the base surface.
• Ensuring tiles are aligned and straightened correctly.
• Using hand and power tools to cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings.
• Filling joints between tiles with grout and cleaning off any excess.
• Removing and replacing any broken or damaged tiles.
• Installing mosaic tiles to create decorative features on walls, murals, and floors.
• Fitting and installing tile strips when required.

Additional Details

Security and safety requirements include being bondable and possessing basic security clearance. Candidates must have their own vehicle for transportation.

The work is physically intensive and demands good physical condition to handle heavy loads, perform bending, crouching and kneeling tasks. Good attention to detail and hand-eye coordination are essential for quality workmanship.
