Job Description
The Support Officer will manage various patient-related administrative tasks in a healthcare environment, ensuring smooth operations and efficient communication within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain records for new patients, capturing all necessary information accurately.
- Manage scheduling by setting, adjusting, or cancelling patient appointments as required.
- Handle patient registration upon arrival, confirming demographic and insurance details.
- Alert healthcare staff immediately when patients arrive as walk-ins.
- Verify that all essential documents like insurance approvals and identification are valid, accessible, and digitized in the system.
- Answer calls at the assigned reception, offering support and redirecting as needed.
- Process cash payments with precision, documenting and reconciling each transaction correctly.
- Compile billing information, confirm transaction accuracy, and hand over the documentation to the Insurance and Finance Coordinator at shift end.
- Respond to incoming calls via the call center, providing useful information and directing calls appropriately.
- Coordinate with physicians to confirm their schedules in accordance with the Outpatient Department calendar.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required within the job scope.
Requirements
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP software systems.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- High attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Zero to two years of relevant experience in patient registration, appointment setting, or similar administrative roles.
- Fluent communication skills in English, with preference given to those who also speak Arabic.
