Role overview
This full-time permanent Support Coordinator role is based in Townsville, Queensland. The position focuses on assisting NDIS participants to build independence by understanding their needs, linking them with the right supports, and helping them use their NDIS plans effectively. You will also identify barriers and help create practical action plans to address them.
Key duties
- Develop trusted working relationships with participants, their families and outside service providers.
- As needed, travel to meet participants in person.
- Support participants in discussions with providers about service options and help them understand how much of their NDIS budget should be allocated.
- Work toward billable hour expectations and related targets.
- Make sure service agreements are prepared and completed.
- Take a broad, capacity-building approach that helps participants break down challenges and work through barriers.
What you bring
The ideal candidate has prior experience working with the NDIS and understands NDIS plans and budgets in depth. You should be confident managing billing targets and case notes, and bring strong administrative, compliance and IT capability, especially in Excel. The role suits someone who is naturally people-focused, preferably with experience in the disability sector, and who can build rapport, motivate others and communicate well with participants, families and service providers. A commercial mindset, strong customer service orientation, and excellent time management and organisational skills are also important.
