Role Overview
We are seeking a Supply Chain Manager based in Nairobi, Kenya, to optimize and support procurement operations aligned with Puratos' global standards. The role focuses on enhancing cost efficiency, supplier performance, compliance, and import/export processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure procurement practices follow Puratos’ global strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Source raw materials efficiently from local and international suppliers.
- Manage purchase orders to guarantee timely delivery of supplies.
- Supervise import/export procedures including necessary documentation and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate logistics with freight forwarders, customs clearing agents, and governmental bodies.
- Maintain and update the supplier database adhering to vendor management protocols.
- Participate in supplier evaluations, audits, and foster continuous improvements.
- Ensure adherence to food safety, quality, and sustainability standards throughout procurement.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning teams to avoid stock shortages.
- Compile procurement reports providing insightful data for strategic decisions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- Between 5 and 10 years’ proven experience in procurement and supply chain roles.
- Hands-on expertise in import/export operations and sourcing locally.
- Strong knowledge of international trade laws and customs regulations specific to Kenya.
- Professional certifications like CIPS or CPSP-K, or membership in KISM, would be advantageous.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
