Position Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, you contribute significantly to delivering a safe, orderly, and friendly shopping environment. Your primary duty is to retrieve shopping carts from various locations such as cart corrals, parking lots, and store edges, returning them efficiently to their proper storage areas while following approved Walmart methods. This role emphasizes customer interaction and safety, playing a key part in smooth daily store operations and offers opportunities to develop valuable skills in retail, teamwork, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect carts from designated outside areas and ensure they are returned safely to storage using approved procedures, maintaining accurate log entries.
• Respond quickly to requests from registers and customer service areas, assist customers with carrying purchases, and verify receipts when necessary.
• Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks occasionally, including restrooms, complying with chemical handling, disposal protocols, and safe operation of equipment.
• Follow all safety and emergency protocols such as hazardous communication, lockout/tagout procedures, and bloodborne pathogen precautions to ensure a secure environment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment like steel toe shoes and reflective vests, conduct safety sweeps, and adhere to company policies to preserve a hazard-free workplace.
• Demonstrate schedule flexibility, including availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts to meet business demands effectively.

Challenges

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently within a fast-paced setting, particularly during overnight hours by planning to maintain energy and focus.
• Handle physical job elements such as standing for long periods, bending, and lifting items up to 50 pounds, alongside repetitive stocking and organizing duties.

Compensation

The starting wage for this role is $17.75 per hour.
