Key Responsibilities

• Lead reliability efforts spanning multiple domains within Ads, including ad serving, auctions, targeting, reporting, measurement, and billing systems.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to enhance system reliability, scalability, operational excellence, and developer efficiency.
• Steer architecture reviews and shape technical decisions affecting vital revenue-generating infrastructure.
• Create and maintain platforms, tools, and automation to boost reliability and productivity at scale.
• Participate in on-call rotations, spearhead complex incident analyses, and coordinate multi-team responses during major production issues.
• Identify systemic risks impacting reliability and develop long-term remediation strategies.
• Define and monitor reliability metrics for critical advertiser workflows such as campaign management, ad delivery, auctions, reporting, attribution, and billing.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical guidance across multiple groups.
• Contribute to roadmap planning ensuring reliability is integrated into product and infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications

• Over 8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or similar roles focused on large-scale distributed systems.
• Proven track record supporting high-traffic, user-facing production environments.
• In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, networking, Linux environments, and cloud-native architectures.
• Expertise designing highly available systems with strong operational and reliability focus.
• Proficient with observability tools including metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting systems.
• Competent programming skills in Go, Python, or comparable languages.
• Experience driving reliability improvements via SLOs, automation, incident management, and performance tuning.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems across modern distributed stacks.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities enabling influence on cross-team technical directions.

Preferred Experience

• Background supporting advertising technology platforms or other systems critical to revenue generation.
• Understanding challenges unique to ad-serving, real-time auctions, budget pacing, campaign delivery, measurement, attribution, or billing technologies.
• Experience managing high-QPS, low-latency services where responsiveness directly affects business outcomes.
• Track record of establishing reliability programs that yield tangible business benefits.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure services, and large-scale distributed system architectures.
• Experience with data platforms such as Kafka, ClickHouse, Spark, Flink, BigQuery, or equivalents.
• Collaborative experience with Product, Data Science, and Ads Engineering teams.
• Knowledge of supporting machine learning inference or recommendation systems at scale.
