Job description
Overview
The Materials Library Specialist fulfills a vital role overseeing the daily functioning and curated presentation of the Apparel Materials Library. This position ensures that incoming materials are meticulously received, cataloged, organized, and displayed to assist internal teams and visitors effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle receipt, unpacking, labeling, and organizing of new material submissions following established library protocols
- Maintain the physical library environment to guarantee materials remain current, attractively displayed, and user-friendly
- Collaborate with the Materials Library team to develop seasonal and theme-based material collections for internal evaluations and external visitors
- Manage inventory accuracy by recording physical materials' additions, removals, and status updates
- Align physical material records with corresponding digital systems, trackers, and platforms
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and archiving of materials to maintain integrity
- Assist with material consolidation and platforming projects through preparing samples, facilitating comparisons and sorting, and supporting documentation efforts
- Offer practical insights for library management improvements to help steer material strategy and long-term library development

Experience & Qualifications
- 1 to 4 years of relevant experience involving materials management, libraries, product support, or related disciplines
- Background in apparel, footwear, textiles, or product development preferred
- Hands-on expertise in inventory management and documentation practices
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and product management software
- Familiarity with data tracking systems; experience leveraging AI tools is advantageous
- Bachelor's degree minimum; relevant studies include Product Development, Supply Chain, Materials, or Textiles
- Fluency in English required
