Role Summary

We are looking for new graduate software engineers to join our team in San Francisco, CA. This position offers the opportunity to shape key user experiences on a widely used platform by collaborating with diverse teams. Engineers will take full ownership of projects, make impactful technical decisions, and contribute uniquely to our evolving product vision.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with peers to design, develop, and deploy new product features from ideation to maintenance, such as enhancing user onboarding experiences and optimizing activation flows.
Work on improving system performance and reliability, including refining existing features like spell checker synchronization across browsers and enhancing file search capabilities.
Create internal tools to boost team productivity and simplify workflows, for example, automating user feedback aggregation.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, with the ability to begin full-time employment before July 27, 2026.
Experience gained through previous software engineering internships.
Developing proficiency in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.

Skills and Attributes

An impact-focused mindset, valuing practical tools and successful system outcomes over following the latest trends or specific technologies.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools like Codex and Claude Code, with a pragmatic approach to tool selection based on user benefit.
Strong analytical abilities to dissect complex problems and devise clear solutions independently or collaboratively, alongside a willingness to seek guidance when needed.
Ownership and accountability in managing work progress and challenges proactively without requiring constant supervision.
Excellent teamwork skills, valuing cross-functional collaboration and fostering mutual growth among colleagues.
Passion for web application development, including expertise in front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React.
Basic understanding of backend architecture and familiarity with database systems like Postgres, MySQL, or MongoDB.

Additional Preferences

Experience with technologies including React, TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, and Elasticsearch.
A passion for building software solutions for personal or community use.
An interest in the ethical and societal implications of technology, emphasizing conscientious development.
Knowledge of computing pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, and Alan Kay.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive salaries, equity participation, and benefits. For candidates based in San Francisco or New York City, the salary range is estimated between $126,000 and $146,000, with variations depending on experience, role complexity, and location.
