Software Engineer - Identity Protection

About the Role

This role focuses on fighting fraud and protecting identity by developing comprehensive detection and prevention systems against bot account creation, spam, phishing, and telecom frauds including International Revenue Share Fraud (IRSF). The team utilizes advanced machine learning techniques, threat intelligence, and large scale internet data aggregation to design resilient, real-time security solutions servicing billions of users. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and partners to deliver feature sets with well-designed architectures.
• Effectively manage ambiguity and apply problem-solving skills with rapid development cycles.
• Own complete feature development cycles including design, implementation, testing, debugging, release, and ongoing support with a focus on secure and scalable solutions.
• Write clear, efficient, and maintainable code prioritizing performance and durability.
• Commit to continuous improvement based on user feedback and product metrics.
• Promote an inclusive, diverse culture and participate in recruitment-related activities.
• Ensure reliable, uninterrupted operation of features by proactively monitoring and rapidly addressing production issues.
• Adopt a data-driven mindset for decision-making, requirements prioritization, and measuring success.
• Maintain and improve test coverage and quality assurance processes.
• Understand Microsoft business units and coordinate with mentors and leadership to enhance end-user experiences.
• Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems.

Technical and Professional Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Proficiency in software engineering and coding in one or more languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, or Python.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations and balancing competing priorities by selecting appropriate technical solutions.
• Strong capabilities in analytical thinking, problem-solving, debugging, object-oriented design, coding patterns, and testing methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating across teams to design, develop, test, and deliver large-scale software systems.

Additional Requirements and Information

• Must successfully pass Microsoft’s Cloud Background Check and security screenings upon hiring and biennially thereafter.
• Compensation range for similar roles in Ireland typically falls between €63,400 and €130,000 per year, varying by level and eligibility for benefits.
