Job description

About the position

We are offering a full-time, permanent Social Worker role based at our Upper Hutt site, serving the Wellington region. This position provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the well-being and safety of tamariki and rangatahi by working collaboratively with families and community partners using a whānau-led approach that emphasizes support and mana enhancement.

Required qualifications and skills

  • Current full registration with the New Zealand Social Work Registration Board (SWRB).
  • A social work qualification recognized by SWRB.
  • A full, clean, and valid driver’s license.
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Proven resilience, flexibility, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational proficiency.
  • Competence in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office, with excellent report writing competence.
  • An understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices, especially knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples’ cultures.
