Role Summary
This position is for a SharePoint and Microsoft 365 administrator who will support day-to-day platform operations, help users with access and collaboration issues, and work alongside senior administrators on site management, governance, compliance, automation, and support activities.
Location
Pune, India. The role also mentions Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, and Noida as relevant locations.
Experience Required
Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience. A minimum of 1 year of experience in Microsoft 365 administration or relevant internship/technical support experience is also noted for responsibilities.
SharePoint Online Duties
You will assist with creating and maintaining SharePoint sites, document libraries, lists, and permissions. The role includes helping users with access, document handling, and sharing problems, maintaining OneDrive for Business settings, resolving sync issues, monitoring storage and usage/activity reports, and supporting simple configuration work such as content types, metadata, and basic retention settings.
SharePoint On-Premises Duties
Support will also be needed for SharePoint Server environments such as 2016, 2019, and Subscription Edition. Tasks include basic site and permission management through Central Administration or delegated tools, routine operational checks like service health, scheduled jobs, and logs, as well as assistance during maintenance windows, patching, and farm updates. You will also start learning how to review ULS logs and handle common access or search-related issues.
Microsoft Teams Support
The role involves provisioning Teams and channels, handling membership requests, and supporting users with meeting problems, channel access, file access, and integrations across apps. You will also monitor Teams activity, help with policy updates under guidance, and manage guest access requests with attention to security.
Governance, Security, and Compliance
You will follow established processes for site creation, permissions, and the Teams lifecycle. The job includes helping with reviews of external sharing, guest access, and group memberships, and supporting retention labels, DLP alerts, sensitivity labels, and other compliance-related activities under supervision.
Automation and Reporting
Existing PowerShell scripts will be used for routine checks such as health validation, permissions reviews, and provisioning. You will also help prepare simple reports using admin center tools for usage, storage, or activity, while gradually building PowerShell skills to automate repetitive work.
Support and Operations
This position acts as a Tier 1/Tier 2 support resource for SharePoint and Teams issues. Core work includes troubleshooting permissions, sync problems, and access concerns, updating documentation and knowledge base content, and collaborating with senior administrators on escalations and more complex incidents.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Microsoft 365 administration experience, or relevant internship or technical support exposure.
- Working knowledge of SharePoint Online concepts such as sites, libraries, and permissions.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Teams structure, including teams, channels, meetings, and policies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID basics, especially users and groups.
- Foundational PowerShell ability, including running scripts and writing simple commands.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Interest in learning SharePoint on-premises fundamentals and Microsoft 365 governance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to SharePoint on-premises environments.
- Basic experience with Power Automate flows.
- Understanding of OneDrive sync behavior and common troubleshooting steps.
- Preferred certifications: Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900), Microsoft Teams Administrator Associate (MS-700), and Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900).
