Senior Research Executive (Molecular Diagnostics)

Role Overview

The Senior Research Executive will join the R&D team at Temasek Polytechnic, focusing on developing a LAMP-CRISPR-based eDNA detection system for swift, onsite diagnostics, surveillance, and biosecurity assurance of aquaculture pathogens.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute diagnostic projects utilizing CRISPR technology.
• Assist colleagues, project collaborators, and other stakeholders with specialized expertise.
• Ensure workplace safety and health by adhering to protocols, regulations, and standards.
• Support lab operations through managing supply orders and inventory control.
• Uphold equipment functionality via operation guidance, troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and coordinating repairs.
• Record experimental data meticulously, maintain logs, organize charts, and compile detailed reports.
• Protect confidentiality of research data, regularly update project leaders, and report any atypical findings.
• Stay updated professionally by engaging in educational activities, acquiring new skills, reviewing technical literature, and networking with research peers.

Candidate Profile

• Educational background in Molecular & Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genomics, or similar disciplines.
• Preferably experienced with molecular biology and CRISPR diagnostic methodologies.
• Demonstrates strong teamwork and interpersonal communication capabilities.
• Highly attentive to detail with excellent documentation skills, dedicated to delivering precise and quality outputs.
• Committed to adhering to laboratory safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
