Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager specializing in Payments to lead strategic and execution efforts within Commerce's Core Payments and Financial Services portfolio. This role is an individual contributor position reporting to the SVP of Payments. The candidate will unify cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, shape the vision for Payments, and deliver meaningful customer and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the strategic direction and measurable goals for the Payments and Financial Services domain, ensuring Commerce's offerings remain innovative and competitive.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert with strong technical knowledge of Core Payments functionalities.
  • Manage cross-team initiatives across global time zones overcoming alignment and prioritization challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product to deliver timely, impactful projects enhancing merchant experience.
  • Define platform capabilities that cater to diverse merchant payment needs, spanning SMBs to large enterprises, including both B2B and B2C scenarios.
  • Create and drive portfolio plans translating vision into actionable roadmaps with clear priorities and success metrics.
  • Conduct market and merchant research to understand payment and financial services requirements and maintain current awareness of industry trends such as POS, subscriptions, orchestration, working capital, cryptocurrency, and issuing.
  • Communicate customer trade-offs effectively through data-driven business cases to guide roadmap decisions.
  • Design end-to-end user experiences for merchant-facing interfaces, developer tools, and automated agentic systems.
  • Lead cross-functional programs from discovery to launch and subsequent iterations, working with multiple product and engineering teams.
  • Define product requirements, success criteria, and quality metrics emphasizing performance and scalability.
  • Make informed tradeoff decisions balancing customer impact, platform complexity, speed to market, and commercial potential.
  • Own key performance indicators such as conversion rates, adoption, retention, and revenue related to payment products.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing, and Solutions Engineering teams to ensure solutions meet merchant needs and are clearly positioned in the market.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess 5 to 8 or more years of product management experience, including handling complex platform or enterprise-level products; prior involvement in payments or financial services is essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and align cross-disciplinary teams across Product, Engineering, Design, and Go-To-Market functions.
