Senior Network Engineer – SD-WAN Deployment

Role Overview

This position is for a senior network engineer to support a major SD-WAN rollout and upgrade program covering more than 1,000 sites. The work is fully remote from India, with a preference for candidates based in India, and the assignment is expected to run for 4 months with a possibility of extension. The role is aligned to night shift hours, Monday through Friday, to match global deployment schedules.

What You’ll Be Working On

You will help remotely manage the installation and turn-up of SD-WAN appliances, coordinate implementation activities with on-site technicians and field engineers, and make sure the network environment is configured correctly for new SD-WAN services. The role also includes validating deployments before go-live, checking connectivity and performance after rollout, and resolving issues quickly in a distributed enterprise environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Supervise remote installation and activation of SD-WAN appliances at customer sites.
• Support the rollout and integration of SD-WAN across multiple locations.
• Work closely with field technicians and on-site engineers during implementation.
• Configure routing, switching, and related network settings for SD-WAN deployments.
• Deploy configuration changes to existing network devices to support the new environment.
• Carry out pre-deployment checks and post-deployment verification to confirm connectivity and performance.
• Investigate and fix network and deployment issues remotely within required timelines.
• Track network health, refine traffic flow, and improve segmentation as needed.
• Keep deployment logs, configuration documentation, and progress reports up to date.
• Partner with project management, operations, and vendor teams throughout the engagement.

Experience and Technical Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in network engineering, ideally in enterprise environments.
• Practical experience with SD-WAN platforms such as VeloCloud, Cisco SD-WAN/Viptela, Fortinet, Aruba, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of routing and switching concepts including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, QoS, NAT, and VPNs.
• Exposure to enterprise networking ecosystems from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and Arista.
• Experience coordinating with remote field teams and handling multi-site deployments.
• Good troubleshooting ability in large, distributed network setups.
• Capacity to work independently in a fully remote environment with limited supervision.
• Willingness to work night shifts for global deployment support.

Preferred Background

• Experience with large-scale rollouts across 500 or more locations.
• Familiarity with network security, firewalls, and segmentation practices.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VeloCloud, Fortinet NSE, or similar.
• Experience using network monitoring and administration tools.
• Previous involvement in remote migration or deployment projects.

Engagement Details

This is a 4-month contract assignment with a possible extension. The work model is fully remote, and the shift is night shift from Monday to Friday.

Eligibility

Applicants must have at least 7 years of experience and should be Computer Science Engineering students.
