Senior Financial Analyst

About the Role

Chewy is looking for a driven and analytical Senior Financial Analyst to become part of our Commercial FP&A Finance team. This role involves blending a solid grasp of finance principles with hands-on experience in handling financial documents and leveraging data to influence strategic decisions. The successful candidate will facilitate various financial planning and analytical tasks that underpin critical business choices, promote company growth, and ensure financial targets are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop financial models and perform analytics to distill extensive data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations for leadership.
• Support the creation and management of financial performance reporting frameworks, helping establish key performance metrics to assess overall business health.
• Collaborate extensively with teams across Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Product, Supply Chain, and Accounting to gain comprehensive business insight and operational understanding.
• Engage in strategic planning activities, including setting targets and conducting annual and quarterly forecasting by creating and refining models to harmonize objectives between business units and finance.
• Assist with regular financial reporting for weekly and monthly review sessions.
• Coordinate the monthly financial close process, ensuring records are accurate and compliant with company policies.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Management, or Economics.
• Minimum of three years’ relevant experience with a fundamental knowledge of GAAP and financial statements.
• Proficient in financial analysis, modeling, and experience with forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and variance analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including functions like VLOOKUP, data tables, and pivot tables.
• Self-motivated with strong creative problem-solving skills, capable of working independently and managing competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus skills: Familiarity with Hyperion Smartview, Tableau, Oracle ERP, and SQL programming is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

• The role’s salary ranges from $86500 to $152500 annually, depending on the candidate’s experience, education, and location.
• Eligible for 401k plan, new hire and annual equity grants; certain roles may qualify for annual bonuses.
