Role Overview
The Senior Financial Analyst will support critical financial processes such as planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance assessment to aid strategic business decisions. This position offers in-depth insights into financial results, market trends, and potential risks aimed at driving efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the processes of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting aligned with business strategies and operational requirements.
- Perform comprehensive financial analyses including variance analysis, trend evaluation, and complex financial modeling.
- Create and sustain financial models to assess project outcomes, guide investment choices, and examine various business scenarios.
- Analyze financial information and present actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Oversee financial performance, cost management, and profit margins of major construction projects.
- Review monthly accruals and contribute to the month-end and year-end closing routines.
- Assist with preparing audited financial statements, ensuring adherence to accounting norms and guidelines.
- Collaborate extensively with project management, operations, procurement, and commercial departments to gather accurate financial data.
- Develop financial reports, dashboards, and executive presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Identify areas for cost reduction and support initiatives to enhance revenue.
- Ensure compliance with financial controls, policies, and procedures across projects and organizational units.
- Mentor and guide junior financial analysts as needed.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven background in large-scale construction, infrastructure, or EPC project environments.
- Extensive expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and conducting variance analyses.
- Proficient in financial reporting and cost control specific to project environments.
- Deep knowledge of month-end and year-end financial closing operations.
- Strong analytical skills with the capability to interpret large financial datasets efficiently.
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with financial analysis software.
- Experience using ERP systems, preferably SAP.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CA, CMA, CFA or similar qualifications are preferred.
Experience Requirements
Applicants should possess at least 8 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 5 years concentrating on financial analysis or equivalent functions. The role demands adaptability to dynamic, project-focused environments.
