Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Enterprise Solutions Engineer passionate about tackling complex challenges. You will work closely with the Sales team, providing technical expertise throughout the sales cycle, conducting impactful demos, and acting as a trusted advisor to potential and existing clients. This position reports to the Director of Solutions Engineering APJ based in Sydney and contributes significantly to revenue growth and client success.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and showcase innovative solutions that address complex business needs for prominent Smartsheet clients.
• Lead technical engagement during sales processes, collaborating with sales teams to assess customer needs, outline challenges, architect solutions, and highlight the value of Smartsheet products.
• Facilitate discovery meetings to analyze clients’ business workflows and issues, guiding the sales and solution strategy.
• Establish a strategic partnership across Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Professional Services to deliver exceptional client experiences and drive revenue.
• Maintain and expand comprehensive knowledge of Smartsheet’s products, services, and competitive landscape.
• Seek cross-team collaboration opportunities to support and implement company-wide strategic initiatives.
• Guide and mentor team members, supporting onboarding and professional growth within the Solutions Engineering team.
• Represent customer interests to the Solutions Engineering and Product teams to influence product development roadmaps.
• Engage in strategic planning and consultation within the Solutions Engineering department.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices to serve as a subject matter expert for both clients and colleagues.
• Occasionally travel to client sites and industry events to provide expert technical support.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of eight years' experience in roles such as PreSales Solutions Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Solution Architect within the SaaS and enterprise B2B software sectors.
• Exceptional critical thinking abilities combined with a growth-oriented mindset and a talent for analyzing and solving complex challenges.
• Experience with technologies including but not limited to CWM, DAM, MAM, ECM, WCM, CMS, and PIM platforms.
• Robust technical proficiency with the ability to navigate ambiguous and demanding situations effectively.
• A consultative problem-solving approach with expertise in solution positioning.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, capable of tailoring messages for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record of ownership in cross-functional initiatives supporting comprehensive customer journeys.
• A passion for continuous learning and a dedication to delivering excellence.
