Role Overview
The Senior Data Scientist will be instrumental in the upstream optimization of oil and gas operations by harnessing complex data insights and designing AI solutions. The role demands expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and optimization strategies to solve sector-specific challenges and boost production efficiencies. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams will be key in data analysis, AI model development, deployment, and continuous improvement to enhance production management outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design and prototype AI algorithms for regression, classification, and segmentation tasks utilizing advanced AI methodologies.
- Develop and evaluate large language model (LLM)-based and multimodal AI systems for document comprehension, knowledge extraction, and workflow automation.
- Execute end-to-end AI model lifecycle, including data preparation, training, deployment, and maintenance within production environments.
- Work collaboratively in designing solutions and integrating AI applications into existing product pipelines tailored for the oil and gas sector.
- Continuously assess AI models' performance and quality, implementing enhancements to meet project and operational goals.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 4 years’ robust experience in computer vision projects involving classification, detection, and segmentation.
- Proven proficiency with cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning technologies.
- Hands-on expertise in developing, deploying, and scaling industrial machine learning pipelines.
- Experience building and managing large language model applications, including fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation, domain adaptation, and multimodal systems.
- Knowledge in architecting agentic AI systems such as task-oriented agents, workflow orchestrators, and autonomous reasoning frameworks.
- Familiarity with geoscience applications within the oil and gas domain is advantageous.
Key Skills

- Experience with OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn.

- Proficiency in prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and structured prompt design methodologies.
- Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI, or custom-built architectures.
- Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in teams with strong problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical concepts.
