Role Overview
We are seeking a Safety Officer to join our on-site team in the UAE. This role will support the Safety Manager in enhancing the safety management system, raising awareness, and improving safety performance within the assigned business area. The Safety Officer will work closely with global, regional, and local teams to execute and advance KONE's safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of KONE's safety management system, covering safety for workers, users, and third parties.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by acting as a role model and fostering awareness.
- Manage and enhance safety documentation collaboratively with the unit safety team.
- Participate actively in unit safety committees and other relevant safety forums.
- Provide expert advice on safety-related issues to the unit.
- Plan and execute initiatives and projects aimed at boosting safety standards.
- Collaborate with customers, partners, and subcontractors to uphold safety standards.
- Support the development, review, and practical exercise of crisis and emergency response plans.
- Oversee safety risk management processes and tools, supporting related change management projects.
- Accurately collect and analyze leading and lagging safety indicators and report on safety performance.
- Stay informed on safety-related legislation and industry developments, recommending necessary actions.
- Conduct frequent safety audits to ensure compliance, detect risks, and identify deviations.
- Assist line management with safety-related audits and continuously improve audit procedures.
- Lead investigations into safety incidents and help enhance investigation methodologies.
- Manage corrective and preventive measures to foster ongoing safety improvements.
- Develop personal expertise in safety specialist skills, working closely with managers.
- Support training initiatives to raise safety competence throughout the unit.
- Communicate safety insights, including investigation results and best practices, proactively.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
- Mandatory NEBOSH certification; additional safety qualifications are advantageous.
- Between 2 to 5 years of professional safety experience, preferably in the elevator industry.
- Proficient command of English is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and team leadership capabilities.
- Competent in problem-solving, incident management, auditing, and data analysis.
