Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager will lead the store team to meet sales goals, provide outstanding customer service, uphold visual merchandising standards, manage inventory efficiently, and oversee the daily operations of the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve set monthly and yearly sales targets and enhance store profitability by optimizing conversion rates and other retail metrics like average bill value and units per transaction.
- Organize and execute local promotional campaigns and sales activities, analyze sales data to spot growth possibilities.
- Recruit, train, and manage the sales team, prepare duty schedules, oversee attendance, and conduct daily team briefings to motivate staff.
- Set personal sales targets for team members, track performance, address discipline issues, and provide feedback.
- Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered, promptly handle complaints, foster customer loyalty, and maintain a professional store atmosphere.
- Oversee the visual merchandising by implementing brand standards in merchandise displays, window dressing, and seasonal promotions, while maintaining store cleanliness and presentation quality.
- Manage inventory by monitoring stock quantities, replenishing fast-selling products, performing stock audits, minimizing losses from shrinkage or pilferage, and coordinating with warehouse and supply chain teams.
- Handle store opening and closing procedures, ensure accurate cash handling and banking, comply with statutory and company regulations, maintain safety and security protocols, and manage upkeep of store infrastructure.
- Prepare and submit daily sales and operational reports, communicate stock issues and customer feedback, track progress against targets, control expenses, and update area management regularly.
