Research Executive - Aquaculture Scientist

About the Role

This position seeks a Scientist specializing in Aquaculture to lead technical teams and manage projects as a Principal Investigator. The role involves designing strategic plans for project execution, supervising activities to ensure efficiency and quality, and guaranteeing timely completion of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical teams or projects, developing strategic frameworks for implementation and overseeing activities to deliver high-quality outcomes on schedule.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aquaculture industry developments and trends to promote innovation as a recognized subject matter expert.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members to enhance technical proficiency and foster effective teamwork for successful project completion within set timelines.
• Manage administrative and procurement responsibilities related to projects, ensuring judicious budget utilization and cost-effectiveness.
• Contribute to the Aquaculture Innovation Centre’s operational functions and roles.
• Strictly adhere to biosecurity protocols and maintain laboratory, facility, and farm cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• At least three years of relevant experience in aquaculture within pilot-scale or commercial environments, with proven success in securing research and development grants or publishing scientific studies.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in aquaculture business development.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and artificial intelligence software for managing data, writing reports, and delivering presentations.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills to monitor and update project progress efficiently to relevant authorities or lead investigators.
• Highly observant and proactive in identifying opportunities to improve workflows for enhanced efficiency and output quality.
