Remote Customer Support Specialist

Role Overview

This position as a Remote Customer Support Specialist involves part-time work in a hybrid format based in Singapore, allowing flexibility to operate from home for part of the assigned hours. The specialist will address attendee questions received via email, chat, and phone, offering detailed information about event registration, schedules, venues, and technical sessions. The role requires troubleshooting of standard issues related to online registration and virtual conference platforms, escalating complex technical challenges appropriately.

Daily Duties

• Respond to attendee inquiries across multiple communication channels promptly and accurately.
• Maintain detailed records of attendee interactions and update FAQs regularly.
• Collaborate with event coordinators to quickly resolve attendee problems.
• Monitor customer feedback and support enhancements to improve the attendee experience.
• Ensure all communications follow the professional standards set by the conference team.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer support skills with a focus on attendee satisfaction and issue resolution.
• Strong interpersonal communication abilities suitable for engaging with culturally diverse individuals.
• Competency in providing technical assistance related to platform access, registration, and virtual tools with clear guidance.
• Analytical aptitude to understand queries, detect recurring issues, and recommend improvements.
• Familiarity with office software, including email, CRM or ticketing systems, chat tools, and spreadsheets.
• Self-management skills to effectively handle a part-time hybrid schedule and prioritize various requests.
• Previous experience in event support, customer service, or helpdesk functions preferred; knowledge of technical conference settings or IEEE events considered a plus.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
